General Information:

• Franklin Park Zoo: 1 Franklin Park Road, Boston, MA 02121
• Event Location in Zoo: Natures Pavilion
• Parking: There are 3 parking lots for the zoo, but to enter before 9AM, you should park in a lot closer to the Zebra Entrance (See attached Map for parking areas) - Parking is Free.
• Bib Pick up/ Check In: Natures Pavilion – from Zebra Entrance, look for our event signs and head toward the ‘Nature’s Neighborhood,’ take a left into the Nature’s Neighborhood and head back towards the Bathrooms. The Natures Pavilion is across from the bathrooms. There is a big tent (60x40) set up for us, you can’t miss it!
• Perks: Free Zoo Pass for the day! You will be able to enjoy the zoo fully with your 5k Registration
• Food: The Zoo has a few places to grab a bite to eat during the day. They will open around 9AM and have some allergy friendly items. We are not allowed to bring in outside food to the zoo. We will have bottle waters and Gatorades available for guests.
• While Service Animals are welcome, pet dogs are not allowed into the Zoo.

• PLEASE NOTE: Because we are at the Zoo, we will not have a Race Timing Company this year.
• If you do not already have a running/timing app, please download one to your device to be used for the run.
• Runners will be responsible for the starting and stopping of their personal timing app, but we will also have 5k timing volunteers to make sure your race info is recorded.
• Our timing volunteers will be secondary support for all runners in case there is a timing glitch within your own personal app.
• Please remember to check in with our timing volunteers at the finish line to show them your final race time from your own tracking app and they will record that with your bib#
• We will remind runners about this change and assist anyone who may need additional help on the day

• We will have one water stop along the route. You will have access to this water stop a few times along your run. (Along the straightaway when you head out, after your first loop, after your second loop and heading back)
• Bathrooms are located across the zoo. The bathroom by the Natures Pavilion will be open at the start of our event. Other bathrooms will open at 9AM.
• There is a chance the zoo will be relocating the baby giraffe that morning – they are aware of our event and will do their best to not disturb the race, but please be mindful that there could be a large truck passing through/parked along the back loop.  Please just run/walk around them.
• We will have NLG First Aid Staff present at event. They will be in Red First Aid shirts to distinguish them from the rest of the volunteers. Their phone numbers will also be listed on our Contact Sheet given to all guests in case they need help. Make sure to keep our Contact Sheet on you in case you need it while out on the zoo trails.

8:30 AM                FUN RUN (Short 0.25 mile Race)
8:45 AM                Runners / Race Starts
8:50 AM                Walkers Start
9:00 AM                *Zoo Opens to the Public (9:30 AM – Petting Zoo Opens! - at the Barn next to our event)
10:00 AM              Family Fun Day Starts – In Natures Pavilion Area
10:30-11:00 AM    Awards for Runners and Top Teams (Nature’s Pavilion)
12:30 PM              Pack up start
1:00 PM                5k Event Ends – THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION AND SUPPORT!
